We think you’ll be amazed at how a little creativity can turn an ordinary or out-of-date bathroom into one that is beautiful and modern.  Here are some options to consider when remodeling your shower:

Types of Showers

  • Stall Showers – Stand-alone showers can make the most of your valuable bathroom space. They can be designed to fit nearly any space; however, you may need to install additional plumbing to accommodate them.
  • Prefabricated Showers – Usually made from fiberglass, tempered glass or a combination of the two, prefabricated shower stalls come in different materials and qualities. They are manufactured in specific sizes, so you will have to allow adequate space. They will also need to be able to fit through your existing window and door openings.
  • Custom Showers – Custom shower stalls offer you an unlimited number of possibilities in terms of size, configuration and materials. We can build them on top of a custom covered waterproof subfloor or a prefabricated subfloor, called a shower pan. We can build them with tempered glass, ceramic tile surfacing, natural travertine stone surfacing, or just about anything else you have in mind.
  • Framed/Frameless Showers – If you decide on a glassed-in shower, you will be able to choose a framed or frameless enclosure. Framed showers use thinner glass (only about 1/8-inch to 3/16-inch thick) and a metal frame is required to hold it in place. Frameless shower glass is thicker (3/8-inch or 1/2-inch). The tempered safety glass panels can be joined together with far less metal. They are easier to clean and there’s little metal that can rust. Frameless showers also give the illusion of more uninterrupted space in the bathroom.

Fixtures and Showerheads

  • Wall-Mounted Showerheads – These are generally the most affordable option but the least versatile. Try to get a multi-spray option so you can adjust the flow of the water.
  • Ceiling-Mount Showerheads – These showerheads are called rain-style showerheads. You will need additional plumbing but they provide a soothing flow of water.
  • Body Sprays – If you like a vigorous flow of water, mount sprays at different levels to create a whole body massage. Remember that the more showerheads you have, the more water you will use. Fine sprays or gentle pulses use less water.
  • Handheld Sprays – These handheld fixtures let you direct the flow of water to rinse hair and clean the shower enclosure. Some of them come in wall-mounted panels and bars with a variety of sprays at different heights. These are good options when your shower is used by people of varying heights, such as children.
