How much space do you have?

First, consider how much space you want to use for a shower enclosure. Walk-in showers can be as small as 36-by-36 inches. However, if you currently have a tub/shower combination and are willing to part with the tub, you should have at least 60 inches in width to work with. We can help you design a custom shower that will complement the rest of your bathroom and provide a spa-like experience.

Consider a walk-in shower

Walk-in showers, with or without doors, are a hot trend in bathroom design because they are easy to maintain and can be made accessible for people with disabilities by eliminating thresholds and installing a built-in seating platform. If you want a walk-in shower, however, you may not be able to find a pre-fabricated shower and shower pan to fit your available space. Layout, plumbing and structural issues will have to be addressed, and a professional remodeling company with experience in custom shower enclosures will work with you to design your dream bathroom.

Framed, Semi-Frameless and Frameless Showers

You will also have several other options for your new shower. Doors can be installed with or without metal frames. Framed showers are typically made from thin, relatively inexpensive glass that is only about 1/8″ to 3/16″ thick, so metal frames hold them in place. Semi-frameless showers use a limited amount of metal for support but give your bathroom a high-end look. Frameless showers are constructed of thicker 3/8-inch or 1/2-inch glass and can stand on their own with just a few metal channels or metal caps at the corners of the doors and extra-strength hinges.

Shower Door and Glass Options

Sliding doors use the least amount of space because there is no door swing to worry about. Pivot doors are hinged and easy to clean, but require adequate floor space. Neo-angle shower doors offer unique designs for corner showers. Choose clear glass to give a feeling of space to a small room.  Frosted and textured glass will give you more privacy. Glass blocks are another excellent way to create privacy and enhance the room design. They can be used to contain water spray without using a shower door.

Tile And Stone Options

Make your new shower the focal point of the bathroom by considering our natural travertine stone shower and tub surrounds, shower threshold and shower seats. It’s available in a variety of colors, variegations and patterns that will bring character to the room. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s easy to clean and barely shows water spots. Travertine is not limited to shower enclosures; it can be used for walls, floors, sinks and fixtures, if desired.
