Cape Coral Kitchen RemodelerNo matter what type of kitchen renovation you ultimately decide on, good planning will determine whether your project goes smoothly or is complicated by construction delays, cost overruns and inferior workmanship.

At Sunrise Remodeling, we don’t work with subcontractors; instead, we have our own enormously experienced team of craftsmen who are known for delivering exceptional results.

Remodeling a kitchen usually includes cabinetry, counter-tops, electrical work, plumbing, tiling, painting, and other complex work that requires a skilled craftsman. You can save yourself a lot of time and misery by hiring a good contractor instead of trying to tackle the work on your own.

A lot of life’s activities revolve around the kitchen. It should be both beautiful and functional and accommodate the amount of entertaining you wish to do. Before you decide to tear out any walls, we encourage you to read the following tips on what to avoid in a kitchen renovation.

  1. Avoid wasting storage space – Face it; you keep a lot of stuff in your kitchen, and some of it is big, bulky (like a stand mixer) and takes up a lot of space on counters and inside your cabinets. Keeping everything easily accessible can be a challenge. When you design your new kitchen, be sure to include enough storage space. And don’t forget to install cabinets in the space above the refrigerator for bulky or seasonal items.
  1. Avoid wasting counter space – Most of us crave more counter-top work space. Consider adding a kitchen island or L-shaped breakfast bar to gain as much horizontal work space as possible.
  1. Avoid poor lighting – Not only does good lighting enhance the beauty of your kitchen, but it also improves the safety. You don’t want to be using sharp knives in the dark! Consider adding lighting directly above all main work areas; pendant lights look great above kitchen sinks and islands. Also, consider under-cabinet lighting to give your counters enough light for common kitchen tasks.
  1. Don’t omit the backsplash – You may think a backsplash is an unnecessary budget expense. Think again. Consider the grease and humidity created in the kitchen. Installing a backsplash behind the stove and above your counters will make it far easier to keep the kitchen clean and sparkling.
  1. Avoid poor ventilation – How long did it take to get rid of the odor the last time you cooked fish? A good ventilation system will keep your kitchen cleaner and improve your air quality far better than an inexpensive range hood. Good ventilation becomes even more important if your kitchen opens up to a family room or other living space.

At Sunrise Remodeling, we’ll look at storage, ventilation, work flow, lighting, plumbing, counter space, and your comfort, and make recommendations to help you save time, money and frustration.

From the initial planning and design stage, to permits, and anything else the job requires, we estimate, build and inspect the work every step of the way until it is completed to your satisfaction.
